For the past month or so I've been busy working on ways to make this site better for you. Those changes will be coming soon as I start to implement gradual, but key, alterations to Travel Teach & Play.
When I first set out with Travel Teach & Play I really wanted to help English teachers as they traveled the world, whether that was through practical tips, detailed guides or inspiration.
I had the vision to use my experiences as an ESL teacher to create a full featured blog that you would want to visit again and again on your journey. That vision became a reality with this blog and the 434 happy subscribers who follow it.
As this blog grows, it becomes harder to keep up with the demand of creating quality content (you should see my Evernote list of blog ideas; it's massive!) and getting it published in a timely fashion.
For those of you on my email list, it's a lot of work to keep you up to date with fresh content every week that you can use in your classroom and in your life as a globe-trotting expat.
To help me, and you, I've spent a lot of time researching how to make this particular blog better for you, and I've spoken to many of you to learn what you would like to see in the next version of this site.
Well, I'm happy to bring you the news that over the next weeks and months, many changes are going to start to arrive. Here's what you can expect:
- A new layout and look as I implement a new pro WordPress theme
- A new posting schedule: every week 3 posts will roll out focusing on travel, teaching English and having fun while you do it.
- A new eBook
- A resource page full of help for you
- A Facebook community for TEFL/ESL teachers to meet and discuss
- A more personalized and more consistent email newsletter
Those are the bulk of the changes you can expect to see. I hope you'll continue to come back and see the site as it grows!
